About

My practice is rooted in depth psychology and recognition of the interdependent nature of our human experience. My professional path in the healing arts and sciences began with Therapeutic Bodywork; which developed in me a keen understanding of somatic dynamics and the interwoven nature of physical, mental and emotional patterns of human expression. I spent more than a decade learning how to help people suffering with painful patterns within themselves  that sometimes required work on emotional levels in order to create lasting change. My own healing process, which has led me through various modalities and therapeutic experiences, began while working as a guide in the wilderness. I spent many hours working with horses and in contemplation with nature; which clarified my understanding of the healing impact of our natural environment. I found that psychotherapy, bodywork and a deepening of my relationship with nature all had profound impact on my health and well-being. This led me to explore work with at-risk-youth, serving adolescents and families moving through important life transitions and challenging relationship dynamics. I also spent many years working in homelessness helping people in crisis to stabilize, begin to rebuild their life and re-integrate into society.  I believe that there are many paths to healing and balance in our lives. Sometimes simply being in nature, breathing deeply or immersing ourselves in our favorite form of self-care is the most powerful intervention we can access. The experience of my own healing process and my years if professional training facilitate  an awareness of the limitations of psychotherapy as well as the integral role it can play in the healing process. In my practice, I am committed to a non-judgmental, compassionate approach.  In my practice now I work with adults struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, depression,  isolation, mood disorders, eating disorders, chronic pain, addiction, trauma and PTSD.  If you feel ready to work through the wilderness of these dynamics back home to a more authentic relationship with yourself and life then I would be happy to talk with you and see if we might work together.

My clients are people looking for support in coming home to a more authentic relationship with life and themselves. You may feel stuck in anxiety or depression and disconnected from your life and true self. My practice is rooted in building a safe and supportive relationship, working side by side to recover your heart, mind and spirit and support you in creating a life that is meaningful to you.

I believe everyone has innate wisdom and strength. Having been in therapy myself, I have a deep respect for the courage required to begin in the healing process. Healing is possible.  I believe our emotional disturbances are a natural part of being human often containing meaning and a path to healing. Working together using methods that have been proven effective we can find a way through.
